When Good Things Come Together: Introducing Octo, a Powerful DevOps Platform for Streamlining Your Software Development
As part of the V15 release, we are excited to announce the availability of Octo, a powerful DevOps platform designed to streamline your software development pipeline. Octo integrates directly into the web and Visual Studio Code (VSCode), making it easy to view, create, and edit tasks, promote objects, inspect source code, and gain insights into your DevOps state.
Features:
- Kanban Promotion: Promote objects seamlessly with an integrated Kanban board.
- Task Management: View, create, and edit tasks directly within your development environment.
- Source Code Inspection: Access and view source code directly within the platform.
- DevOps Dashboard: Gain insights into your DevOps state with a comprehensive dashboard.
Availability:
Octo is currently available in exploration mode. We invite you to familiarize yourself with Octo, and we value your feedback as we continue to develop and improve the tool.
While Octo is functional and ready for full-scale deployment, it is important to note that you still need the TD/OMS client or RDi to perform all aspects of the DevOps cycle. Octo is a powerful tool that can help you streamline your software development pipeline, but it is not a replacement for the TD/OMS client or RDi.
The TD/OMS client and RDi provide access to features that are not yet available in Octo, such as the ability to deploy applications and manage your TD/OMS environment. We recommend that you use Octo in conjunction with the TD/OMS client or RDi to get the most out of your DevOps workflow.
We are working hard to add support for these features to Octo, but we do not yet have a timeline for when these features will be available. In the meantime, we encourage you to use Octo as a complementary tool to the TD/OMS client or RDi.
Stay tuned:
Stay tuned for further updates and improvements as we move toward the full release of Octo. Together, we're pushing the boundaries of DevOps to new frontiers.

Kanban Promotion
Promote objects seamlessly with an integrated Kanban board. The visual layout helps to keep your workflow organized and transparent, allowing for real-time project tracking and management.
- Keep track of your progress: The Kanban board provides a visual representation of your workflow, so you can easily see what tasks are in progress, what tasks are waiting to be started, and what tasks have been completed.
- Identify bottlenecks: The Kanban board can help you identify bottlenecks in your workflow, so you can take steps to improve efficiency.
- Communicate with your team: The Kanban board can be used to communicate with your team about the status of your projects. This can help to ensure that everyone is on the same page and that there are no surprises.
TD/OMS Components Plugin
The TD/OMS Components plugin enables you to view all objects in your TD/OMS application. This can be helpful for debugging, understanding the structure of your application, or simply getting a better overview of what's going on.
To use the TD/OMS Components plugin, you can update your own perspectives to include it. You do not need to ask your Octo Administrator to install the plugin for you.
Once the plugin is installed, you can open it by clicking on the Components icon in the Octo toolbar. The Components plugin will display a list of all objects in your TD/OMS application. You can then drill down into the list to view the properties of individual objects.
The TD/OMS Components plugin is a powerful tool that can help you to better understand your TD/OMS application. If you are not already using it, I encourage you to update your own perspectives to include it.
